Brad Lidge Not "Clutch"

When you think of "clutch" what do you think?

I think 41 saves in 41 opportunities. I think 92 strike outs in just over 69 innings pitched with only 35 walks issued. I think of a 1.95 ERA. Who did that?

More on: Tommy West, Tommy West Award, Tommy West Award Foundation, Worst coach, College Football (all tags)

The Second Annual Tommy West Award will be awarded to the Division 1-A/Football Bowl Subdivision head coach deemed by the Tommy West Award Foundation to have exhibited the worst late-game management over the course of the 2008 regular season. It is named after Tommy West to honor his years of service in giving an extra level of suspense, not towards the outcome of a game, but as to what device he would use to cost his team victory.

2007 winner was Rich Brooks of Kentucky.

Dear TBS, please stop with the FrankTV commercials

I don't understand why TBS feels the need to show the same commercials over and over.  Do they not understand the concept of ad fatigue.   At this point, I'm beyond not wanting to watching FrankTV.  I'm at the point where I would like to see Frank Caliendo hit by a flying DIsh Network satellite dish and decapitated.

This goes for Dish Network as well.  It's as if they don't want new subscribers.  Who is watching Frank do Donald Trump (a detestable human being if there ever was one) for the 297th time in a game and think, "Hey you know what?  I think I want Dish Network now."

Please, even if there are 18 versions of these FrankTV ads, it doesn't mean anyone is going to watch that show.  Because by now, we've seen all the characters and none of them are funny.

Mooooooooooooose!

More on: Mike Mussina (all tags)

I just wanted to give a shout out to my man Mike Mussina for winning 20 games for the first time in his career. At 39, Moose has become the oldest man to win 20 games for the first time in his career, and if he retires, will be the first person since Sandy Koufax to retire following a 20-win season.

Favre, Packers, and a lot of whining...

ESPN's incessant coverage of the Favre/Packer break up is becoming a weighing problem on the minds of many, but I have to ask-Why? What good will it do all of us to spend our days focusing on Favre's need to be in the spotlight and the Packers' need to coddle him?

More on: Bad journalism, ESPN, ESPN sucks (all tags)

The following is an email I sent to Gene Wojciechowski of ESPN about a mistake in one of his articles. I do not have the liberty to publish the name of the fellow journalist to whom I forwarded the email who called it "the funniest email of all time," but it is journalist-approved.

The first two paragraphs are excerpts from the article which I included to show exactly what I was emailing him for. My response follows shortly thereafter.

If the reports are true, then Favre has already asked to be released from Green Bay. Finally! It's not that I'm happy that the our Star MVP Quarterback is leaving, but at least now another team has to deal with this crap!
